I absolutely LOVE civil ceremonies in my office.  I love meeting all the couples choosing a very simple, affordable way to get married.  It's true, MANY couples really don't  want a wedding, they just want to get married.  I hope I've created a memorable experience that's perfect for you!

Civil ceremonies are what most people would consider a simple, courthouse wedding.  You literally just say "I do" and you are done. 

After marrying thousands of couples in weddings that are big, small, and somewhere in between, I've learned that most people really just want to hear you say "I do," watch you put rings on each other, be pronounced married, and have your first kiss!

Then... everyone just wants to take as many pictures at possible!  

In my quest to provide affordable wedding options, I think I've found a really great formula for couples who are looking for something professional and simple. ​

My Civil Ceremony Services take place in my office located on Monument Circle in Circle Tower. 

I chose the location, first of all because Monument Circle is the heart of Indianapolis.  It's iconic!   You can elope outside on a fine day or get married in my office with a 9th floor view of Soldiers and Sailor's Monument where it's clean, dry, heated and/or air-conditioned.

To be practical, I also chose the location to be in easy walking distance from the Marion County Clerk's office.   So, you can pick up your marriage license, get married, take your marriage license back, file it and walk away with your certified copies all in one day!

My office is just that, an office.  I have 8 chairs so, you are welcome to bring up to 8 people with you.  Often, with that many people, some people will stand, or sometimes, everyone just stands - taking as many pictures as possible!

Most couples come by themselves for a quick easy wedding.  They may bring their kids too.  It is important to me that you  be able to have people with you as you get married but keep in mind - this is still a non-religious, simple, civil ceremony and the price is right. 

There are other wedding officiants with larger ceremony spaces - but they are also more expensive. My goal is provide a space for wedding minimalists!

​ My fees are $100 Monday-Friday from 8:30-5 and $150 evenings and weekends.  I also travel anywhere in the Indianapolis area for $150 where you can have an informal wedding with as many people you want if getting married in a small office is not for you.  I also perform formal wedding ceremonies - some couples get legally married in my office, and then again later in a formal wedding setting.  I perform all types of wedding ceremonies!

My office is a casual, informal place for people to gather around as you get married.  You are welcome to dress up!  Or, wear your pajama's.  It's OK!

Because this is an office, I want everyone to know that it's NOT a wedding venue or a wedding chapel.  There's no aisle to walk down. I only perform non-religious ceremonies.  But, my ceremonies can also be very romantic and light-hearted too!

I've decorated with a pink flower wall that makes a great backdrop for pictures and I have an entire wall of signs to you can hold like, "Just Married!"  "We  Eloped" "Not Pregnant" or "Pregnant" - If you need to make an announcement. 

I'm happy to take  pictures with your phone or with my phone and text them to you.  If you are getting married in secret - like many people do - no worries!  I won't tell, I also won't post your picture on Instagram!  You are welcome to bring your own photographer, or I have several recommendations for professional, last-minute photographers, to go  with your  last-minute wedding.  They have offices right here in the building as well.

Marry Me In Indy! has recently become a family business! 

My Husband, Peter Meyer has recently joined me in my office to perform simple ceremonies.  He's the guy I married over 30 years ago in a simple civil ceremony in Germany before he immigrated to the US.  He's been a US Citizen for over 15 years.  After a 35+ year career as an executive chef, he is cooking dinner at home every night, spending time with our two boys, and he's marrying couples!   Peter also travels through the area performing simple civil ceremonies - but he leaves the formal ceremonies for me.

I'm happy to add Peter to my civil ceremony service to be able to provide more available appointments at times that are most convenient for you.

The Details and Small Print

This stuff is important....
​Please read the entire booking policy below when deciding to book your appointment.
  • These are the policies for The $100, 30 Minute Civil Ceremony In My Office and The $150, 60 Minute Civil Ceremony In My Office.  
  • You are booking a non-religious civil ceremony held in a business office.  
  • We are using my office to perform a professional service. That professional service is a legal marriage.  
  • You must obtain your own marriage license in accordance with Indiana law and bring it with you. Here is a link to marriage license information.
  • We will sign the license together and perform a wedding ceremony.  
  • The completed marriage license must be returned to the clerk that issued it within 30 days.
  • If you book a $150 service and your marriage license was issued by the Marion County Clerk, I am happy to return the license for you and mail you two certified copies.  I will provide you with a photograph of the certified copies and let you know when they are being mailed. I am not liable for errors cause by the USPS
  • A legal wedding ceremony can be either a quick “I do,” or an exchange of formal vows and rings.  It is up to you.
  • My office is not a wedding venue. You are not renting the space.  We are performing your civil ceremony in my office.
  • I am providing a place to exchange vows surrounded by 0-8 people. 
  • There are 8 chairs. That’s all the space will comfortable allow. 
  • There may be people working in surrounding offices while you are getting married. 
  • The office building is open Monday-Friday from 8:30-5.  The building is locked at all other times.
  • If you book an appointment outside of regular business hours, your entire party must arrive together because I need to let you in the building and use a key for the elevators.  
  • The service is limited to the couple and up to 8 guests. 
  • If you bring more than 8 guests, you have the option to get married outside on Monument Circle - weather permitting.  Your children count as a guest unless they are literally a baby in someone’s arms. No more than 8 people plus the couple being married will be allowed in my office. 
  • I do not have a changing area.  You must come dressed for your wedding. The public bathrooms are extremely small.  There is no handicapped restroom on my floor and my floor is the only one I have access to during non-business hours. 
  • Please do not bring alcohol or food.  Please don’t bring a cake - even a small one - or champagne.  
  • Please do not make me ruin your wedding day by having to say no - even when you knew ahead of time I already did.  
  • Payment is due when you book your appointment.  You do not have an appointment if you have not paid in full.  
  • $100 appointments are 30 minutes.  $150 appointments are 60 minutes.  
  • If you arrive late, you can still be legally married but may not have time for more than just a basic exchange of vows.  
  • If you are late,  there are no refunds.  
  • I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not follow my policies.  If you read these policies after you book your appointment, you can cancel within 24 hours for a full refund.  ​
  • Full refunds are available if canceled within 24 from the time of booking - as in, you changed your mind immediately after booking.  
  • You can reschedule to another date once within 30 days from the original date you booked without incurring an additional fee. You must reschedule at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. 
  • After the initial 24 hours, payments are non-refundable.    
  • Marry Me In Indy! LLC is not financially liable for any more than the fee you have already paid.
